ACADEMIC SUMMARY

Dr. Le Lagadec obtained his PhD in Organometallic Chemistry (Ruthenium chemistry) under the supervision of Prof. P. H. Dixneuf at the University of Rennes I (France). Between 1994 and 1996, he held a postdoctoral position at the National Institute for Materials and Chemistry Research, Tsukuba (Japan), within the group of Prof. M. Tanaka, working on the catalytic synthesis of polysilanes. He joined the Institute of Chemistry on 1996, and since 1998 he is Full Researcher.

RESEARCH TOPICS

 

Our research activities are focused on the synthesis and the use of group 8 metals (Fe, Ru, Os) cyclometalated complexes, and we are particularly interested in their interactions with redox-active enzymes, with applications in bio-sensing and in medicine (anticancer activity for instance). Analytical tools such as electrochemistry, UV-vis spectroscopy, and dissolved oxygen concentration measurement are commonly used for such studies. On the other hand, our organometallic complexes have been used as very efficient catalysts for living / controlled radical polymerization (ATRP process). Finally, we are also interested in the synthesis of bimetallic, pincer-type, complexes displaying axial chirality.
